Title: Project Manager
Location: Worthing ~ 1 day weekly
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Overview:
La Fosse are partnered with a leading utilities organisation who are looking for a project manager to join the team on a permanent basis. You would be responsible for the end to end delivery of IT/ digital and Change projects across their business systems.
Projects will include delivering system upgrades, system implementations, application development and integration, and business change and adoption initiaitives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver IT/Business projects, managing estimates, plans, resources, schedules, scope, requirements, solutions, budgets, and deliverables.
- Motivate and lead team members, providing guidance, technical support, and coaching.
- Ensure quality assurance of project deliverables, adhering to PMO processes and guidelines.
- Support Senior Project Manager in resource allocation across teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in business and IT.
- Communicate project interdependencies within and across the programme, contributing to portfolio cross-dependencies.
- Maintain full budget accountability for projects.
- Manage team resources and support allocations across teams.
- Deliver projects successfully, motivating team members and providing direction.
- Accountable for project delivery, including:
- Create project charters with stakeholders.
- Develop estimates, schedules, milestones, and plans.
- Acquire necessary personnel and manage staffing.
- Communicate project expectations clearly.
- Assign and monitor project work.
- Review quality and integrate team members’ work.
- Foster a positive project environment.
- Facilitate decision-making.
- Coach and supervise team members.
- Identify and manage risks and issues.
- Track project progress and manage scope changes.
- Communicate status and progress to stakeholders.
- Deliver status reports and adapt them as needed.
- Execute deployment communication plans.
- Conduct post-closure reviews and share lessons learned.
Must Haves:
- PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent certification
- Agile qualification or experience
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Average 5+ years prior experience in Project management / Programme Management
- Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects and experience of shaping, scoping and delivering medium and large projects
- Demonstrable experience of managing portfolio/programme deliveries
- People management experience including performance reviews, career development, coaching and mentoring
- Experience of managing Project Managers in the delivery of simple, medium and large projects
- Experience of procurement and management of 3rd party suppliers for services, software and infrastructure
- Experience of working in a matrix function alongside Business, Service Architecture, Operations and Security functions
