Title: Programme Manager

Location: Worthing ~ 1 day weekly

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + Car (£3.6k) + Benefits

Overview: 

La Fosse are partnered with a leading utilities organisation who are looking for a Programme manager to join the team on a permanent basis. You would be responsible for the end to end delivery of their AMP8 Transformation programme. 

You will be responsible for the delivery of system implementations, system upgrades, infrastructure upgrades, networking projects, data projects and cybe projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of project managers and analysts, ensuring successful delivery of IT/Business projects.
  • Line-manage team members, including performance reviews, career development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure quality assurance and compliance with delivery standards across the portfolio.
  • Manage team resources and support allocations across teams, assisting the PMO with demand requests.
  • Direct and manage projects from start to finish, defining scope and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in business and IT.
  • Maintain interdependencies within and across the portfolio.
  • Maintain budget accountability for all projects in the portfolio.
  • Recruit and onboard project managers and analysts, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
  • Accountable for project delivery, including:
      • Create project charters with stakeholders.
      • Develop estimates, schedules, milestones, and plans.
      • Acquire necessary personnel and manage staffing.
      • Communicate project expectations clearly.
      • Assign and monitor project work.
      • Review quality and integrate team members’ work.
      • Foster a positive project environment.
      • Facilitate decision-making.
      • Coach and supervise team members.
      • Identify and manage risks and issues.
      • Track project progress and manage scope changes.
      • Communicate status and progress to stakeholders.
      • Deliver status reports and adapt them as needed.
      • Execute deployment communication plans.
      • Conduct post-closure reviews and share lessons learned.

Must Haves: 

  • PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent certification
  • Agile qualification or experience
  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • A plus if you have exposure to change communications.
  • Average 5+ years prior experience in  Project management / Programme Management
  • Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects and experience of shaping, scoping and delivering medium and large projects
  • Demonstrable experience of managing portfolio/programme deliveries
  • People management experience including performance reviews, career development, coaching and mentoring
  • Experience of managing Project Managers in the delivery of simple, medium and large projects
  • Experience of procurement and management of 3rd party suppliers for services, software and infrastructure
  • Experience of working in a matrix function alongside Business, Service Architecture, Operations and Security functions
