We’re working with one of London’s leading energy companies that are looking for a talented .NET Developer to join their trading team on a contract basis. This role will be part of a hybrid working mode and will fall inside of IR35.

Native Software Engineering is responsible for the delivery and support of software, which may include new development, configuration and installation of third party packages, and software integration efforts. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and UI design, development, programming, and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software). It may include the support of the solution which has been developed by the team.

The role will involve working with other team members and stakeholders in other geographical locations and the job will involve working to and delivering solutions against fixed timelines.

The job revolves around a commodities trading platform, as such experience in this field is highly desired.

Special Challenges:

Skills & Requirements:

Technical Skills:

– Mandatory:

o C#

o .Net Framework or Core

o SQL Server or Oracle

o Internet Information services (IIS)

o Web services (ASP.NET) / windows services

o Understanding of GIT source control concepts

o Minimum Years of Experience: 4 years of corporate IT experience

o Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT

o Ability to write and execute unit tests

o Exposure to Asynchronous Messaging, ideally MQ or similar

– Desirable:

o Azure DevOps for branching and Source Control, build and deployment

o PowerShell

o Python

Business Skills:

– Excellent written and spoken English

– Experience in engaging with internal end customers to clarify requirements and perform ‘show and tells’

– Experienced in using Jira and Azure DevOps in an Agile Environment

– Proven ability to estimate accurately and meet delivery deadlines

– Ability to break down features into sub tasks and manage time to deliver the feature

Operations Skills:

– Proactive attitude to own incidents through to their resolution

– Develop new code with a clear ability to be supported through comments, error codes and automated testing

– Ability to clearly communicate incident status, resolution activities and participate in post event sessions for continual improvement

Unique Skills & Requirements of the Posting

– Experience in developing solutions for trading platforms

– Understanding of Trade Lifecycle and pricing concepts

– Understanding of Crude and Commodities trading useful
