Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Infotainment

 Location: Toulouse  | Contract |  Hybrid

We’re seeking a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to join a Semiconductor Automotive Application Engineering team that works closely with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers – from early design to production. This is a customer-facing role focused on supporting the development and integration of Board Support Packages (BSPs) across platforms like Linux, Android, QNX, and Green Hills Integrity.

You’ll be involved in the launch of cutting-edge digital cockpit and infotainment systems, playing a vital part in bringing next-generation automotive platforms to life.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and debug BSPs on custom automotive platforms.
  • Support customers during hardware bring-up, system integration, and feature enablement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Contribute to prototyping, performance tuning, and customization of embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and system stability.
  • Document requirements, technical solutions, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong C/C++ programming skills in embedded environments.
  • Solid understanding of embedded software architecture and real-time systems.
  • Experience with one or more HLOS/RTOS platforms (Linux, Android, QNX, Integrity).
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with live and post-mortem debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, Trace32).
  • Familiarity with ARM architecture and low-level driver development.
  • Understanding of bootloaders, secure boot processes, and system security.
  • Exposure to virtualization concepts and memory management models.
  • Knowledge of standard automotive interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, USB.
  • Experience optimizing system performance and analyzing kernel internals.
  • Comfortable working directly with external customers and partners.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
