Datacentre Engineer

La Fosse are currently parntered with a customer who are looking to hire a Datacentre Engineer into their team, to support their infrastructure enviroement.

This role is fully remote, outside IR35 and paying £450 per day. Initial 6 months.

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the systems and software that support data centers. Datacenter Operations Expert performs various tasks related to the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data center operations, as well as ensuring the smooth operation and security of the center. The role is a contracted position and reviewed according to the contract terms and conditions.

Key Skills needed:

• Experience in a global Operations Expert role in Datacenter Infrastructure
• Excellent knowledge of Cloud infrastructure (Azure)
• Excellent knowledge of server operating systems (Microsoft Windows)
• Excellent knowledge of hardware and software virtualization systems (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Excellent knowledge of SCCM
• Excellent knowledge of SAN and NAS storage
• Excellent knowledge of Backup systems (Azure Backup, Veeam)
• Excellent knowledge of MS SQL database
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory on-premise or hybrid cloud
• Excellent troubleshooting, strong problem-solving skills (hardware and software issues)
• Excellent security-understanding of data center security best practices and security protocols
• Good knowledge of the main networking concepts and protocols (VLAN, ACL, Firewall, VPN, TCP/IP, routing, switching)
• Good knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell)
• Good knowledge of ITIL best practices (ServiceNow)
• Good knowledge of monitoring systems (SCOM, WUG, Nagios, Netcrunch, Zabbix)
• Good knowledge of Linux server operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)
• Good skills and experience in document editing (SOP, WIN, Templates, architectural designs)
