Data Engineer (Inside IR35) – Insurance

Data Engineer is required by a fast-growing London based insurance business on an initial 12 month interim bases (inside IR35) to join a large data modernisation initiative.

You will be integral in designing and building a modern cloud data platform solution to handle large sets of complex data which will allow the business to create better, quicker data driven insights by improving data quality and consistency.

Hybrid operating model – 2/3 days per week in Central London office

12-month initial contract

Start date: late Feb/early March

Key roles:

• Building cloud based Datawarehouse and data lake solutions
• Designing scalable data models (dimensional modelling)
• Implement automated and efficient batch data pipeline
• Work closely with Data Quality and Governance teams to ensure metadata, catalogue, lineage are optimised

You will need:

• Excellent experience in Data Engineering, very strong in SQL and Python or Scala
• Expertise in ETL tools
• Insurance sector experience is ideal (underwriting or risk analytics systems), or highly regulated financial environments
• Data architecture experience
• Very familiar with technical data structures and data pipelines
• Agile environment and DevOps methods experience
