ODC – Braze Subject Matter Expert
AnR / Customer Experience & Communications

We are looking for a Braze Subject Matter Expert to join our Customer Communications Team, in the Customer Experience & Communications Domain so you can put your most engaging customer experiences out into the world, from data activation and cross-channel journey orchestration, to AI-assisted creation and experimentation. You will be working closely with Product Owner, Area Architect and your team members clarifying business needs and technical requirements and defining how to support them in the best way. In close collaboration with other teams, your team will introduce new features and improvements to our Customer Engagement Platform services and how it interfaces with other products in our portfolio!
As our Braze SME:

  • with your Team and Product Owner, you will work in a challenging Agile environment in close collaboration with other teams.
  • you will participate in the team’s technical/architectural discussions and decisions.
  • utilize braze to create and maintain customer engagement journeys.
  • educate and enable teams on the use and benefits of the marketing automation tool.
  • document successful use cases strategies, patterns and best practices.
  • identify gaps in data and propose solutions to enhance audience targeting capabilities.
  • collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align audience strategies with business objectives.

At the Customer Communications team, our primary responsibility is to handle our Customer channels like email and newsletter and integrate it with other products in zooplus’ ecosystem. We foresee that in this role, you’d also do data engineering-related tasks to ensure we have the right customer data coming into this platform and the right data is made available to other products.

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in solution investigation, estimations, planning, and alignment with other teams;
  • Develop and implement data pipelines and data processing workflows.
  • Utilize braze to create and maintain customer engagement journeys.
  • Educate and enable teams on the use and benefits of the marketing automation tool.
  • Document successful audience strategies and best practices.
  • Identify gaps in data and propose solutions to enhance customer journey targeting capabilities.
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engagement strategies with business objectives.
  • Promote and implement test automation (e.g: unit tests, integration tests, e2e tests and performance tests)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, development, testing and deployment.
  • Work closely with the team in an agile and collaborative environment. This will involve code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and incident coordination.

Qualifications
Must have

  • 3+ years of experience with Braze.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in utilizing marketing tools like Salesforce, Mailjet.
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement and targeting strategies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on driving audience engagement and conversion.
  • Familiarity with project management or analytics background is advantageous.
  • You can understand the full architecture landscape and technically investigate and implement new features independently.
  • Being responsible for the quality of the solution you deliver is natural for you. You have experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development.
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Interested in growing as a software engineer participating in the whole development cycle (frontend, backend, testing, DevOps)
  • Empathetic and able to quickly build relationships.
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within Agile practices and knowledge of Agile values & principles.
  • Experience in the e-commerce domain.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Java
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices (container orchestration, CI, monitoring and alerting, AWS & Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with Microservices.
